Eclipse subconsciously stared at the stallion for a moment longer, then looked at her dirty pelt. She sighed, and waded into the creek, cool water wrapping itself about her legs. The creek ended in a small shallow pool of water inside the safety of the tall evergreens. A shaft of moonlight came through the tree-tops there, hitting the water in just the t=right place, so it glittered like the starlit sky.
As if lured by it, Eclipse waded trough the creek, making her way toward the pool of water. One the mare had reached it, she felt the pebbles under her hooves slowly transform itself to smooth sand, and felt the bottom slope downward. Not much, but the water was now slightly above her back, and Eclipse knew she was in the deepest spot of the pool. She felt all the stiff muscles in her body relax, and she began to clean her raven-black pelt in the soothing waters.
