Sapphire walked to the edge of the cliff, and looked to the black sky. Lightning tore the sky apart, and thunder clashed, echoing through the mountain's edge, and the grasslands of DreamHerd. Rain pelted down, carried by the strong wind that tore through Sapphire's dark Sapphire mane. Her ivory coat blended in with the stormy surroundings, and from afar, Sapphire looked like nothing more than a mysterious mist the rain had caused.
Sapphire loved the storms, and sometimes wished she could be carried everywhere they went if not be a part of it. Blossoms from the Cherry Tree on the cliff blew all around, and disappeared over the edge of the cliff. The Unicorn took a deep breath, and smiled. She truly was home.
Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by an ear-splitting roar. Sapphire, spun around, and couldn't see another animal, although she could sense one. But then an enormous streak of lightning lit up her surroundings, and illuminated the snarling face of a mountain lion. Sapphire gasped, and took a step back, only to find air. pebbles tumbled down the side of the cliff, and she gasped in fright.
The mountain lion saw its chance, and opened it's enormous jaws filled with razor sharp teeth, letting out an even more tremendous roar than before. It suddenly leaped, long claws unsheathed, right for Sapphire.
The Unicorn managed to doge the oncoming feline, but not without a deep scratch on her shoulder. Sapphire cried out in pain as silver blood oozed out. The mountain lion gathered itself again, and began to circle Sapphire. Her Sapphire eyes were wide, and filled with fear. The big cat snarled, and lashed out a paw, and the blow nearly knocked the young mare off balance.
Thunder clashed overhead, and the sky lit up as a lightning streak followed through. The rain was coming down harder now, and the cliff was beginning to get slippery and hard to stand your ground on. Once more, the mountain lion opened it's massive jaws and let out a powerful roar.

Topaz and Emerald had been talking with one-another in a small cave while Sapphire stayed out to enjoy the storm. The Pegasus and WU were at the base of the mountain, but were only about 5 minutes away from their sister.
The two suddenly looked up in fright as the mighty roar of the mountain lion echoed down the mountain side and through the cave that the two sister's had made a shelter of. "Sapphire!" Emerald cried, scrambling to her feet. The WU closed her eyes, and the tip of her black horn began to glow. Suddenly, a vision of Sapphire and the lion on the cliff came into her head.
Emerald opened her bright emerald eyes again, and cantered out of the cave, Topaz right behind her. Emerald's green painted coat and dark, forest green, wavy hair blended in with the evergreens up the side of the mountain. Topaz, however, stood out because of her buckskin-like creamy coat and captivating golden hair as well as her golden hooves and bright Topaz eyes and feathers.
The sister's galloped up the side of the mountain, dodging trees, and jumping fallen branches. Emerald and Topaz were now almost halfway up the mountain, desperate to find their sister.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sapphire was now covered in scratches, and one nasty bite on her left side. Her ivory coat now looked almost completely silver because of her blood. The mountain lion did not look tired at all, and looked almost victorious, as if it knew it was going to win the small battle between Unicorn and mountain lion.
Topaz and Emerald finally appeared at the top of the mountain in time to see the mountain lion leap at Sapphire. The cat and horse were so close to the edge of the cliff, and the force of the mountain lion leaping on top of Sapphire, sent them hurtling over the edge.
Emerald and Topaz leaped foreward, and Emerald cried, "Nooo!!!! Sapphire!" But the only thing they could hear as they saw their sister falling into the depths of the valley at least 800 ft. below, was her last desperate cry fading into the roar of the storm.
Tears streamed down the sister's faces, and Topaz called hopelessly once more, "Sapphire!" Her wet, golden mane was plastered to her creamy colored coat, and her Topaz eyes lost their sparkle, and were now overflowing with grief.
[Dang,....that was a sad introduction to the two sister's. But I will tell you that she-....actually, let's just leave it liek it is. > lol]
